Pump Service Engineer

Action Pumps are looking for an experienced pump service/ commissioning engineer.

To work on various customer sites throughout the UK (predominantly London, the South & the South East) & Action Pumps Ltd (Waterlooville, Hampshire or Dartford, Kent)

MAIN SCOPE OF JOB ROLE:

  • To carry out reactive and planned service, maintenance and commissioning visits to pumps, booster sets & pressurisation units on customer premises / sites.
  • To provide service excellence to our customers presenting the Company in the best possible way.

Days: Mon – Fri

Hours: 08:00 – 16:30 (½ hour for lunch) 40 hours per week

O/T Paid where/when appropriate

Holiday: 25 days plus paid bank holidays

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Good knowledge of pump applications to include all aspects of building services.
  • Electrical Qualification to 17th Edition
  • Good Understanding and Knowledge of Controls systems
  • High level knowledge in respect of the latest technology available in the pump industry.
  • Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to present written information in a structured and balanced way appropriate to the needs of the reader.
  • Good telephone manner.
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels (dealing with a range of clients from engineers to Directors.
  • IT literate (training provided for our service software application)

 

EXPERIENCE

Similar previous experience essential in a business to business sector with a proven good track record.

Experience within a similar role in the pump / building services industry preferred or similar.

Technical aptitude essential.

Internal Sales Apprentice

Action Pumps Ltd in Waterlooville are looking for an internal sales person on an apprenticeship basis. You will be working closely with the sales team in a busy office environment, the applicant must have good communication skills, portray professionalism and confidence to deliver great customer service.

MAIN SCOPE OF JOB ROLE:

  • Assisting with sales including quotations and order processing.
  • Answering the phone & taking accurate details.
  • Maintaining the highest level of customer service.
  • Be able to work with price and discount policies.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Team Leader.
  • Be a good team member working with all departments.

 

Days: Mon – Fri

Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 (1 hour for lunch) 40 hours per week

MAIN SCOPE OF JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain an excellent level of customer service for existing accounts.
  • Identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services.
  • Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation.
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers.
  • Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone.
  • Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
  • Attend sales meetings, conferences and events where appropriate.
  • Keep abreast of trends and changes within the industry.

  • Full, UK driving licence.
  • IT Literate.

Training your Staff

At Action Pumps Head Office, we have a dedicated and fully fitted product training room generously equipped by some of our supplier partners, using this relatively unique facility to hold demonstrations, training sessions etc.
The training room can seat up to 10 people and includes a projector, flip charts and Wi-Fi access (available on request)
